Having trouble with Audacity 2.0.5 on OS X Mavericks 10.9.2.:
When Audacity is exited, it remains running in the background. A forced quit is required to shut it down.
Audacity insists on loading at start-up, even with that option unchecked in the Dock.
I also have a Contour Design ShuttlePRO v2, which works fine with everything Audacity. Although the Shuttle’s settings recognise that Audacity is installed, the focus will not shift when the program is in use.
The last point has also been raised on the Contour Design forum. If anyone can help with the other two headaches, it would be much appreciated.
Just to cover this, you are stopping Audacity with Audacity > Quit from the top menu bar, right? Not the [X] symbol in the program?
Did you actually install Audacity, or are you running it from within the Disk Image on the Desktop. For Audacity and the machine to “know” about each other, Audacity must be installed as it says on the readme.
“Drag the Audacity folder to the Mac’s /Applications folder.”
It will still launch on startup if you have Audacity open when you shut down the Mac and have “Reopen windows when logging back in” checked in the shut down/restart dialogue.
