Problem with Audacity 2.0.5 and ubuntu 14.04 hp dv7

Hi I have problems in using audacity. When I open my audacity program logo appears at the center of the screen and freezes.

the other Firefox, etc audacious, applications stop working.

not that this problem is due, my laptop is a hp pavilion dv7 and I have no idea that may be occurring. Comment that after about 3 minutes since this run audacity opens and allows me to edit recordings .mp3 files etc.

I run audacity from termninal to see the error log and this is the information that shows me:

Thanks for your answers, I hope news. regards

Have you made customisations to the sound system?

Have you installed pavucontrol or reinstalled pulse? That may help.

Do these search results help?
https://www.google.co.uk/search?num=50&q=audacity+Cannot+connect+to+server+socket+err&oq=audacity+Cannot+connect+to+server+socket+err

If you running JACK, try turning it off.

Have you tried force quitting Audacity then initialising the file ~/.audacity-data/audacity.cfg: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/preferences.html#reset ?

What is the output of

aplay -l
