Problem with Audacity 2.0.3 not recording in stereo[SOLVED]

Hi Everyone,

I hope someone can help me with this strange problem.
I’ve re-installed Windows Vista Business on my PC, and want to use Audacity 2.0.3 on it to record and digitize my LPs.

I’ve connected my USB-turntable, and adjusted the recording parameters in the dropdown menus to the following values:

MME
Speakers (Realtek High Definition)
Microsoft Sound Mapper
2 (Stereo) Input Channels

When I start recording, 2 channels are indeed recorded, but IN MONO, NOT IN STEREO - I have been using a stereo demonstration record to make absolutely sure.
Obviously, there will be a particular tweak to be done somewhere, but I have no idea where. Can anyone help me with this ?

Set the USB device recording settings to 2 channel stereo in the Windows Sound Control Panel.
