possible change to the metada template

I was trying to figure out several metadata questions and wound up creating an xml redesign for the metadata xml files.

First I was trying to figure out why artist name and year data does not transfer to MusicBrainz Picard I did not succeed but a couple of questions being answered in the default XML entries may provide the information.

The second XML file is one I might like to run in Audacity to provide more complete mapping between what Audacity outputs and what MusixBrainZ finds in the files as I attempt to match them to a known album.

Perhaps moving the label-“” data to the name=“” data in the current file might allow me to do the same thing with the current file layout. I tried something close but the XML entries got jumbled on the screen and the inability to remove the 7 default entries made the resulting screen even more difficult to manage.

If this generates any interest I would be happy to try expanding what I have done if it would assist in getting this implemented.

Hindsight being 20/20 with a clearer head in the morning I updated the XML sample to remove special processing instructions and substitute data indicators to trigger the special processing requirements. These should place additional power into the hands of the person choosing to create such a file.

I tried converting my data to the old Metadata XML format. I recorded an album and tried to pass the data (most of the new fields I added), Nothing successfully transferred.

The window got so large that there were button below the bottom of my screen. The tag names were jumbled (not in the sequence of the xml file).

I guess I am way off in the bushes somewhere in my attempt to get this to work. The revised XML file is attached.
