Playback on Bluetooth headphones is strange

Recently I got some JBL Bluetooth headphones to use with my Mac. They work fine with audio from other applications, but with Audacity, there’s sometimes distortion, and sometimes playback will get “stuck” for a few seconds and repeat one second of the audio five or ten times before proceeding again.

An old thread on this forum suggests that this is a Mac-only bug with no cure. Is that still the case?

As far as we know, yes.

OK. Well, fortunately, the Bluetooth phones came with a cable, to use them as traditional headphones, and the issue doesn’t occur if I use that.
