Pitch shift

I am recording a cassette from a Kenwood cassette player to the Zoom H2n recording set to 44.1/16 input and then connecting the Zoom to my MackBook Air/Audacity through USB. Audacity is set to record with 44.1. The sound is normal from the Zoom but upon playback of Audacity, the sound is a whole step higher. I wasn’t able to get sound out from Audacity/MacBook Air during the recording process. Any suggestions to solve this change in pitch? It seems it’s a sample rate issue, no?

Solved.Switched the Zoom and Audacity to 48k sampling rate and problem solved.

Hi,

Thanks you for your post! I was battling the same issue of pitch shift (to higher freq) recently and then saw your post. I also tried switching both Zoom H2N and Audacity to 48KHz and the problem went away!

BTW, I saw this problem reported several years earlier also but there was no solution identified.
