Win 8.1 (intel 3i w/ 8 meg ram), Audacity 2.0.5 (.exe installer, yesterday)
I’m a newbie. I downloaded a song and changed the pitch 2 semitones down. It plays back fine at the beginning of playback, but by the end of the song, the pitch has crept back up at least a half step or more. ( I tried it on a couple of other songs and it did the same thing. ) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Whoo Hooo! I think I figured it out. It seems as if I set the initial pitch shift down two semitones but neglected to set the final pitch shift. ( I was wondering what that was for) Audacity is a great program!

Instead of Sliding Time Scale you can use Effect > Change Pitch: http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/change_pitch.html . It is faster, but has lower quality and may introduce length changes.
