pioneer djm connection / recording issue

hi, ive had a look at some posts regarding pioneer djm mixer connection but couldnt find an answer. so,
problem seems to be recording issue. when i hit record i get 9999 error
im using windows 8 on a laptop,
ive recently downloaded updates for mixer and cdj nexus 2000.
ive downloaded the newest audacity.
i am connecting mixer with usb cable and within audacity have set playback as realtek speakers
recording as pioneer djm 900
chanels 2 stereo.
within my sound settings on pc i have also set playback and recording as above.

quality setting on audacity : 44100 hz 16bit

If you simply want to record the output from the USB mixer, select the USB device as your [u]Recording Device[/u]. (Your Realtek soundcard/soundchip is not involved.)

If you are running some kind of DJ software, things might be more complicated.

well doug, ive set the usb mixer as recorder and set the playback as realtek speakers.
microphone is turned on also.
ive tried everything but cant record
