Perception 120 mic not recording: Audiobox: Win 8 Aud: 2.0.3

Evening all:

I’m new to Audacity + have been Googling my heart out to try + solve this issue. I’m hoping you can help as I’m slowly beginning to lose my mind.

The issue:
When I first downloaded Audacity 2.0.3 it worked well with my Audiobox. Now my microphone does not record, though my laptop recognizes Audiobox + shows it is working properly.

What I’m using:
Windows 8 on an HP Laptop
Audacity 2.0.3
PreSonus Audiobox USB
Perception 120 Microphone

What I’ve tried:
Making Audiobox my default recording device
Plugging in Audiobox before opening Audacity to confirm it is recognized
Various combos of disabled/disconnected devices in my control panel
Re-booting

I would be very grateful for your insight. I’ve got a lot to learn!
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Do you have phantom power switched on?
Have you accidentally changed the “pad” switch position on the mic?
Do you see a signal level in the Windows Sound Control Panel?

Many thanks for your post, Steve. I’ve checked all + all seems status quo. I must have done something in Audacity or my control panel, but can’t for the life of me find what that is.

May need to just restore defaults on both + start again.

Thanks for helping me to troubleshoot!

The answer could give a good clue to where the problem may lie.
