Pause Button Does Not Work During Recording[SOLVED]

I have version 2.0 of Audacity loaded onto my new laptop running Windows 7. During recording, the pause button does not work. I have an ION USB turntable connected and would like to pause my recording when changing my vinyl records from side one to side two. I do not have this problem with an older version of Audacity using my desktop PC running Windows Vista. Any suggestions on what the issue may be? Overall, the Audacity software performs quite well. Thanks to all involved.

Does the button change color when you “push” it. Does the shortcut work, the “P” key?

Koz

The pause button does not change color. I will try the “p” key suggestion. Thank you very much.

If you do not have the TT connected, and then set Audacity to record using the laptop’s in-built mic, does the Pause button work?

Not sure but I will check it out.

Thanks,
Bill

If you have turned on Transport > Sound Activated Recording, turn it off.

Gale

The Sound Activated Recording function was set to “on” and I have now turned it off. Let’s see if that works.

Thanks,
Bill

Gale, your suggestion worked. My pause button is now fully functional.
