So I was recording some commentary, lasting a total of near 2 hours, and about 1 hour and 10 minutes were just complete silence and it randomly cut back into the audio for the last portion of the track. My microphone wasn’t muted at all during this and I know my microphone works correctly. Any help with this problem because this has happened before, but it’s just keeps happening randomly, not every time.
Using:
-Windows 7 w/ Service Pack 3
-Audacity Version 2.0.3
-Obtained through .exe
While you’re performing, do you get the bouncing red sound meters and blue waves collecting on the timeline?

More importantly, do you get an occasional flash of the hard drive light?
I suppose you may not know that one that because of the intense gameplay.
But the red sound meters are a big deal. That means Audacity thinks it’s making a proper sound capture.

Do you have enough disk space in the Audacity temporary directory? Look at Edit > Preferences: Directories.
The current version of Audacity is 2.0.5: Audacity ® | Download for Windows .

Yes, I do indeed get the red sound meter, and when I record myself saying something quick for a few seconds it’s fine, but if I record for 2 or more hours, it tends to happen. I installed Audacity 2.0.5 and I’ll see how that works, but on 2.0.3 I had plenty of directory space, over 200GB.
Thanks for the help, and I’ll post again if the new version presents the same problem.
