Overly Agressive Noise Reduction

Good Afternoon,

I’ve been given some video clips that have audio suffering from overly agressive noise reduction. True, there’s next to no background noise but the remaining audio sounds thin and almost robotic at times. The “thin” I’ve managed to work out with filtering and EQ changes but I can’t seem to do anything about the “robot”. Does anyone out there have any advice in this? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

With Best Regards,

Sorry, if it’s that bubbly metallic sound, then it can’t be repaired.

This is an academic point, (like Steve says the bubbly robotic effect is incurable), but the distortion is probably due to compression artifacts rather than “Agressive Noise Reduction”, both defects sound similar.
