The other day I wanted to sing along to a track, but when I played it back, my vocals were out of sync to the track, even though it sounded find during recording. I managed to manually sync them back up, but does anyone know what I’m doing wrong? I don’t have any other problems with Audacity except for this. I do a lot of overdubbing acapella, and this doesn’t happen - only with a recorded track.
That’s what the Audacity Latency setting does. You play the original track into headphones and then immediately into a microphone while overdubbing. Measure the time difference between them.
Add the time difference to the existing latency setting and try it again.
