Overdub not working

yep, another “overdub is not working” :frowning:

I am new on audacity and only use it for practicing guitar. I use Behringer UM-2, windows 10 and my audacity is 2.4.2.

I used to insert a track with mp3 of the music books I am using to study and record another new track to listen if the sound is good, if I am achieving a good tone… whatever…

I don’t know what did I make because now I cannot record myself while another track is playing: I can record myself in a new track, I can listen to the track on audacity but if I try to insert a track AND record a new one with my guitar alone, all types of errors happens. From a “0 success” to a “-9999 Unanticipated error” because I mess with all of my configs and now I lost 4 hours of my afternoon trying to find out what is happening but due to my dumbness or even the lack of proper language to understand what is an overdub, I lost patience.

TLDR: How to I record myself while listening to another music?

Behringer UM-2,

I love my UM2.

That’s it in my test voiceover studio.

Writing down the errors is a darn good start.

Do you use G-Cloud or any of the on-line storage solutions? How do you connect to the internet? WiFi, cable in the back?
