OSX 10.11 and PreSonus iOne

I am very new to this, so be kind

I have a MacBok Pro running OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) with Audacity 2.1.1. I am using a PreSonus AudioBox iOne for input.

I believe my setup is correct. I have stereo output of a Zoom B3 plugged directly into the instrument input of the iOne with a USB connection to the MacBook Pro. With the iOne input gain at the 9 o’clock position, all recordings are EXTREMELY quiet. Turning up the gain more only introduces a distorted signal.

This isn’t a very complex chain. Is there something on the Audacity side that I might be missing?

All cables are good.

Thanks in advance.

Macs do not usually let you adjust input volume of USB devices, but occasionally they do. To make sure, open /Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup, find the iOne input device and see if you can change the volume.

When you plug headphones into the iOne to monitor what you are sending to it, is it loud enough? If not, can you turn the output up on on the Zoom?

Is there a reason you don’t record direct from the Zoom over USB to the computer?
