Option "Chains".

I’ve read on one of the sites:
https://www.fosshub.com/Pre-Release.html
that audacity version 2.3.1 alpha has been released. I’ve downloaded and have seen with horror that there was no option “Chains” in the “File” menu. Please, correct!

2.3.0 has very recently been recently released (2.3.1 is alpha test and is not stable for production use).

In 2.3.0 we still have “chains” but now that are called Macros - and more functionality has been added - see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/new_features_in_this_release.html#macros

and: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/macros.html

I’ve tested 2.3.1 alpha. I came to the conclusion that the chains in it do not work. After their application, the waveform changes, but in reality no changes are made. And so, the version is working, except that now the chains can not be used. Please, check my conclusion.

Another question: why did the sc4_1882.dll plugin disappear from the plugins folder in Audacity 2.3.1 alpha?

Because it is obsolete.

Here is the number! I just started to master. Tell me, please, is there any instead? By the way, it works great if the plug-in from the old version is moved to a folder.

Searching Google should bring up plenty more.

Thank you! And about the chains, I was wrong. They work, it turns out. Excuse me. But, anyway, there is a remark. The window of the chain now does not close after the completion of the application of all links. Please correct.

Dear steve, the built-in compressor is something awful. There are no windows for entering values, only sliders. But I will try chrissdynamiccompressor-1_2_6. In my opinion, there are windows, like everywhere else.

And this compressor came up. Thank you very much!
