Opening Audacity

Using Windows 7, Audacity 2.1.2
When I open Audacity, there are no tracks and I always have to “add new track” in order to record. Is there any way to have Audacity open with a track already there? Thanks.

You don’t “have to” add a new track : a track will be created when you press record …
