Hi, so I was working on a project and audacity crashed, and then when I opened it after force quitting, it kept freezing and crashing again on the ‘restore project’ screen, so I couldn’t even tell audacity to discard the changes or skip the restore, much less actually restore it. I restarted my computer and checked that there are no new audacity updates, but it kept happening every time. After a few tries, I managed to click ‘discard selected’ faster than it could freeze, and that helped me actually be able to open the app and see if I could start a new project and open other projects, which thankfully I can. Unfortunately, the broken file is a time-sensitive project, and I would like to do what I can to not have to fully redo the whole thing in the next couple of days. I don’t even care if it’s a way to recover the project or just export the tracks I had in it so I can edit in a differnet program. Anything that gets me past the ‘recovering files’ screen would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Update: I decided to re-record the whole thing so I could meet my deadline, but I’d still like to know if there’s a way to deal with this if it happens in the future
