Hi,
Is there a way to persuade W7 to include Audacity in the ‘Open With…’ program file list? I have tried repeatedly by browsing to the audacity executable but each time no joy. It would be so much more convenient to be able to right-click on an audio file and select Audacity as the preferred program.

The problem is due to a limitation in Windows that does not allow file associations to be made if the application name has been used previously for the same file type. To fix the problem the old file association in the Windows registry needs to be removed, or the application needs to be renamed.
