Old Fart Lost on New Audacity

I’m an OLD lady and I’ve been using Audacity nearly 20 years. Prior to downloading the latest version last week on my new PC, I was fluent with Audacity 2.3(ish) on my Windows 7 machine. Now I have Audacity 3.whatever on 10 and NOTHING is working as it used to. I cant get any VST’s to install, the sound coming out is crap and nothing seems intuitive anymore. Can someone point me in the right direction to correct this? I hope this makes sense. Biggest complaint is inability to easily enable TDR, Voxengo, Spitfish, MHorse … and the like … VST’s. Thanks all

I am guessing that you are trying to use 32-bit plugins with a 64-bit Audacity build.

The default Windows download for Audacity is 64-bit - but 32-bit builds are available:

So you either need to upgrade/replace your plugins with 64-bit versions (if available) - or install a 32-bit Audacity.

Audacity version 2.4.2 was the last and best of the Audacity 2.x series.
