odd glitch

this is more of a minor annoyance than a real issue, but i’d still like to know how to fix it.

the small tab that shows the volume in dB during playback somehow was dragged to the left-center side of my screen. the edge of the tab that allows for it to be moved is stuck offscreen. as well as that, the actual audacity window itsself was somehow glitched so that the part of the tab allowing the window to be moved was as well stuck offscreen.

i’m using Mac OSx v 10.11.3 El Capitan
my copy of Audacity is currently in version 2.0.6 (i completely forgot to update it for a long time and i’m also lazy)

If you’re in 2.0.6, then you should have a WINDOW menu option. Zoom the Audacity window out full and then zoom it back. All of Audacity should then become visible.

Let us know if that doesn’t work. There’s a more serious solution.

that did fix the window not being movable, but the meter tab is still stuck partially offscreen. it’s still just a minor annoyance, but i’d be happy to know if i can fix it.

View > Toolbars > Reset Toolbars.

If that does not work, quit Audacity, open Finder, use the “Go” menu, choose “Go to Folder” and type

~/Library/Application Support/audacity/

In that “audacity” folder, delete the “audacity.cfg” settings file.
