Nyquist Plugins basic info needed

I have downloaded a file that ends in the extension .ny, which I assume from the context is a Nyquist plugin. I haven’t been able to find how to use it. Can anybody help?

Win 7 Home Premium SP1
Audacity 2.0.6

Wouldn’t you just dump that into the /Audacity/plugins folder and restart Audacity?

I’m not a Windows elf, but it’s supposed to be that easy. It may not be easy to find it after you do that. It may not show up with the same effects name as the filename. It will be a name near the bottom of the effects list that didn’t used to be there.

Nyquist files are written as “plain text” files. You can examine the contents by opening the file in a plain text editor (such as NotePad), though you should take care not to modify the file unless you know what you are doing
