Numbering tracks

Hi,

I am currently converting cassettes to MP3. How do I add individual track numbers to songs. At the minute Audacity is recording the tape asone long song.

You need to split the recording into one file per song. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/splitting_a_recording_into_separate_tracks.html

If you want the tracks to play in sequence, you can create a playlist, for example a “M3U” file (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M3U). Most media players provide the ability to create playlists.
