Not writable or disk full

I have been trying to save my project (3 different ones actually). I am using Audacity 2.4.2 on Windows 10 operating system with several hundred gig empty. When I try to save as or export as MP3 the message read " could not save project. Perhaps C:\USERS.… is not writable or the disk is full. I even tried to save it in WAV and it responded with “failed to read from a file in c.”

I have tried to save it in the file with the older versions I have saved and on the desktop, and it doesn’t work on either. There is no space before the name and I made sure there were no hyphens. I changed the name from the previous edition of the file. I uninstalled and then reinstalled Audacity, and that didn’t work either.

I recorded a new episode live into audacity, and that saved fine.

What do I do? Thanks all!

You can get that error if you use punctuation marks in filenames. Upper case, lower case, numbers, -dash- and underscore are safe. That’s it. Today is 2020-10-20. No slash marks.

Any characters in the name other than a to z, A to Z, 0 to 9 ?

How big is the project? (How many audio tracks and how long are they?)
