Hi…
Audacty is not picking up my voice when I plug in a mic/headset into the mic/headset area on my Ausu computer.
I’m on Widows 8.1
Any suggestions. I read through tons of the manuel and could not find an answer?

Ensure that your microphone is plugged in and recognised by Windows before you open Audacity.
You can check if the microphone is recognised by Windows by looking in the Windows Sound Control Panel.
Then look in the device toolbar and ensure that the microphone is selected as the recording input.
If the microphone is connected after launching Audacity, you will probably need to make Audacity rescan for new devices: “Transport menu > Rescan Audio Devices”

Are you sure you have the plugs 'round the right way? stereo headphones and mono computer microphone have exactly the same size plug. Some of them aren’t pink, either.
