Another question I had – does Audacity not allow silence to be present between tracks? If my mixed track (all tracks mixed and rendered) ends at 2:10, is it possible to have another track sounding at 2:12? (There would be two seconds of silence). Any help would be appreciated!

Do you mean a second clip in the same track, starting at 2:12? Yes. Click at 2.12 and paste the audio in. Then you have two clips in the track, separated by white space from 2:10 to 2:12.
Or record or import the new audio underneath, drag it to start at 2:12 then mix and render to one track (which then won’t have two clips). The white space from 2.10 to 2:12 will be rendered as silence.
