I use the latest version of audacity 3.7.7 on Win11 Home 25H2. However, the bug I’m reporting has persisted on my Sytem for several Years now and has survived several updates of audacity and the OS. The Noise reduction effect requires an input of 3 Parameters. When I quit this input window, by clicking “Rauschprofil ermitteln”, I get an error message: “Prüffehler: Wert nicht im Brereich 0.01 bis 24” (my system is in German). This occurs irrespective of the values entered, even the standard entry 6,6,6 does not work. The effect is not applied. I presume that this is due to a broken configuration file, that has not been overwritten by updates, but I dont know. Has anyone got a cure for this? Thank you.
You are correct. It’s not overwritten when you update.
You can try Tools → Reset Configuration.
Or you can try deleting (or renaming or moving) audacity.cfg
C:\Users(your name)\AppData\Roaming\audacity\audacity.cfg
When you re-start Audacity a new configuration file should be created.
