No sound when capturing Cassette.

When I try to record from Cassettte to my computer I get no sound, and when I try to troubleshoot this I get a message saying 'USB Composite Device is an older USB Device and might not work with USB 3.0. I use Windows 10 and Internet Explorer 11.

So is this a USB cassette player? What is the make and model number?

Is the problem that you can record tall blue waves but you cannot hear them? If so, choose your built-in sound card as Playback Device in Audacity’s Device Toolbar.

If you want to hear sound in applications other than Audacity while the USB Cassette player is connected, change the Windows default playback device to your built-in speakers. This link shows you how http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/faq_playback.html#usb.

If you can’t actually record blue waves, choose the USB Audio CODEC for the player as Recording Device in Audacity’s Device Toolbar.

If the error message is relevant to your problem, try connecting the device to a USB 2.0 port instead of USB 3.0. Look at your computer manual to see if any ports are USB 2.0.
