No sound playback whilst recording

Hi,

I have just downloaded audacity, which i have never used before, and im trying to record guitars through the iphone app jam up pro.

I have connected my phone to my pc via the line in and the signal goes through to the software, but no sound comes out of the speakers untill after i have recorded, which means i can’t hear the guitar whilst recording. Like i said im totally new to this software so i have no idea what to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording > [X] Playthrough (select).

However, the sound is going to come out “one computer late” and you may not like playing like that.
