I am using Windows 10. I am new to Audacity. Just downloaded version 2.4.2. I am trying to record from a cassette player to my computer. No problem with the hookup. I connected through the microphone port on the front. It appeared to record properly. I exported the file as an mp3 and saved it in Audacity. When I opened the file to play it back, I get no sound from my speakers. I checked the sound settings and everything looks good and not muted. Does anyone have an answer why this is happening. Did I record it wrong, save it wrong. I’m not sure.
So that makes two, I guess, three of us, now. Try to Generate a DTMF tone. Can you play it?
Can you load an MP3 file and play it?
So now you have some idea of what the audio looks like when you play it. Compare that to your recording.
