No sound from PC

I have installed a new EVGA New Pro 7.1 sound car. Cannot record anything now as picks up no sound. Tried everything and using correct line in.
HELP PLEASE.

Hello Newey. As no one has replied to your post yet, I would venture that not a lot of people on this forum have much experience with this particular board. I can’t say that I have, either.

I assume you are referring to the EVGA NU Audio Pro 7.1, 712-P1-AN21-KR, 7.1 Surround Sound Internal Sound Card. Have you downloaded and installed the latest (1.0.2?) version of the EVGA NU Audio Pro Audio Driver from https://www.evga.com/support/download/ ? You didn’t say.

Does windows recognize it as a device? Right click on the speaker icon in the lower right-hand corner of your screen, then select, “Open Sound Settings”. You should see your card available as both an input and an output device. If windows doesn’t see it here and you can’t get windows to play to it, and “listen” from it, audacity is not going to be able to find it either. Best to get help from evga. You could start on their forum here:

If windows is working fine with the card, and your problem is with audacity, then tell us what steps you have taken so far.

isn’t really very helpful. What settings have you made with audacity. Have you told audacity anything about your card? What kind of cable is plugged into line in? What is on the other end of that cable, etc. “Cannot record anything”, why do you say this? What does “picks up no sound” mean? Please be detailed and specific. That helps a lot.
