Just downloaded the latest version of audacity for windows 7, how ever I can not record, I get the message “no device found”. What device does the massage mean?
It means that Audacity cannot find a recording input (device) to record from.
This is not uncommon on Windows Vista/ Win 7 because Windows often disables/hides the recording inputs. In fact it’s so common that we listed it in the "Frequently Asked Questions: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/FAQ:Recording#Vista_7
