I can not get the mp3 downloaded music to play—when pushing record to record a track???—it plays fine when i just push play…no music when i push record???[even though it is scrolling across the screen?]no sound?

“MP3” is a file format. I presume that you are talking about a track in Audacity that you have imported from an MP3?
Audacity tracks are not files - Audacity can copy data from an MP3 file by Importing the file, but the track is not the file.
To play tracks while recording a new one, “Overdub” must be enabled in the Transport menu.
(also, “Software playthrough” should be off - NOT selected).
