Not getting input signal from Tascam us 16x08 interface… as near as I can tell I have everything routed correctly. Don’t see anything in the input monitor. Nothing records. Outputs look good from interface, transfer looks to be set correctly in audacity… still nothing… what am I missing? anyone? I am getting signal from guitar input & output to powered speakers… Audacity is getting nothing… No signal to record… I have Yosemite 10.10.2… Some ------- cyber glitch is holding me up. anyone have a clue?
thanks
Does it appear in Mac Preferences? Audacity gets its sound from OS-X, not from the device.
Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Sound > Input. Is the device listed there and does the blue ball sound meter jump when you talk or play?

Audacity 2.0.6 is not supported under Yosemite. There are known compatibility problems although this isn’t necessarily one of them. Koz
I finally managed to do some 1 track recording… Double checked the transfer… Changed the Audacity sample rate to match the Tascam 9600KHZ…Which I suspect is what opened the door… When I attempted to change it back Audacity shut down upon pressing record… Weird cyber minutia…Frankly I kind of just fell into it digging around for answers…
That rate would be 96000 Hz or 96 kHz.
As well as choosing an Audacity project rate supported by your device, it’s important to open /Applications/Audio MIDI Setup and set the Tascam output and input to that same rate too.
Make sure you have installed the product’s drivers http://tascam.com/product/us-16x08/downloads/.
