No choices in drop down menus

Using MacBook Air running Monterey 12.0.1.

I just downloaded Audacity 3.1.3. There are 4 fields near the top with drop down menus. (See first attachment.) But when I drop down the menus there are no choices other than the one showing. For example in the first field shouldn’t there at least be an “MME” choice? (See the second attachment for a screen shot of what I see when I pick the button for the drop down menu for the first field.) The same thing happens in all 4 fields. There are no choices other than the one that’s already showing. How do I get the normal choices to show in the drop down menus?

Thank you very much! I’m just getting started with this app and feeling quite frustrated.

On Mac the only choice for Host is Core Audio. Depending on your hardware you may have only one chose for the others.

MME is only available on Windows (if I recall correctly).

Thank you for the responses. I guess I need to find a tutorial for Macs.

Why, what’s the problem? Your screenshot looks normal for a Mac.
