No audio to audacity

I have Audacity 2.3.0 and am using a external sound board with USB connection to laptop. I get audio to laptop but cant get to Audacity. Help from Rancho Cucamonga Calif.

Select the USB device as your [u]Recording Device[/u].

I just re-instaled windows 10 and download audacity and when i press record button: ‘‘error opening recording device
error code: 0succes’’

Please help
