Newbie Help Copying Effects from one Track to another

So I created a really cool Robot Voice Effect and I don’t remember everything I did to the track to make it sound the way it did. I was able to save the Project.Aup File. My question is: Is there away I can copy Just the Effects that I applied (Reverb, Delay ect…) to the track and Paste them to a New Recording? I can’t seem to find any information and I don’t know how to replicate the effects I did. Any Help Would be Appreciated.

Audacity doesn’t keep an effects list other than UNDO and if you closed the project, the UNDO goes away.

If you haven’t closed the project yet, UNDO will step you back through the effects you applied. That may give you a hint what you did.

You don’t have to undo. While the project is open you can look at View > History… to see the list of effects applied. For built-in effects you can see the effect settings you applied.

yeah the problem is that I already closed to project… I tried Opening the Project.aup and there’s nothing in the history … so is there no way to copy the effects from one track to another?

Is your feature request that History just stores the actions list from closed projects, or lets you actually go back to a state when the project was previously open? If you want to “vote” for either, let us know.

Even if we had an option to go back to states when the project was previously open, it would take a lot of extra disk space.

Also History is just Undo/Redo. It would not let you “copy” an effect setting or group of settings. To do that you would need “presets” for the effects you used (Reverb has presets, Delay doesn’t).

Or (a better solution) create a Chain for the effects and effect settings that you use. All the effects (in the Effect Menu) that Audacity ships with can be added to a Chain. You also add other Nyquist effects to a Chain - see the link for details.
