I have a Toshiba AMD A8 running Audacity 2.1.2 and want to record sound clips off a mates podcast but I can’t get any worthwhile results. Any ideas please?

The current Audacity is 2.1.3 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows. It is a good upgrade.
