Hello. I am switching from Audio Audition to Audacity. I routinely record a meeting for which I only need a portion of the meeting for a podcast. How to I select a point and then delete everything up to that point? How do I select a point and then delete everything after that point?
Thanks.
The easiest way to do this is to just select the portion you want and then use Edit > Remove Special > Trim Audio or its shortcut Ctrl + T - or the Trim button in the Edit Toolbar
or if you do want to do it in two steps
-
move cursor to the first edit point
-
use Shift and the “Cursor to home” button in the transport toolbar - or just click and drag leftwards to the beginning
-
Edit > Delete or shortcut Ctrl + K
-
move cursor to the second edit point
-
use Shift and the “Cursor to end” button in the transport toolbar - or just click and drag rightwards to the end
-
Edit > Delete or shortcut Ctrl + K

Thanks. I’ll give this a try.
