I have a 3 minute long voicemail dialogue in distant background is drowned out by noise. Can anyone tell me the best way to dampen noise and and possibly make the dialogue louder. Noise reduction doesn’t help and I’m new to audacity. Thanks everyone
Noise reduction is unlikely to help. In fact, if the noise is as loud as, or louder than, the speech, nothing can recover it.
You could try the Telephone curve in the Equalization effect, but since this is a voicemail message the frequencies have already been limited to the “telephone” range.
