Need Update for Audacity to Be Compatible with macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra

I just upgraded my OS from macOS 10.12.6 Sierra to 10.13.6 High Sierra. With that, when I open my Audacity 2.2.2.0, it says it is not “optimized” for this operating system and I should get a newer version, meaning it is not compatible.

Please, we need an update to make Audacity compatible with High Sierra. I’m actually surprised this hasn’t already been done, since High Sierra has been out since last fall, and an even higher OS, Majave, is coming out in a couple months.

I know this is free and volunteer, so this is merely a request. I don’t know if anyone realized it. I’m kind of dead in the water until such a release comes out!

Audacity has been my favorite audio editing application for many years. Thank you for that. But please, I would like it to continue to be my favorite audio editing application.

meaning it is not compatible.

That’s not what it means. High Sierra fully supports 32-bit software—and Audacity—along with a scare message.
