Need to record voicemails for personal archive - please help!

Hello Audacity whiz kids,

I’m using MacOS Mojave 10.14.2 on a MacBook Pro 13 inch 2017, two thunderbolt 3 ports, Audacity version 2.1.0.

I would like to archive some voicemails, to free up space on my phone and to save those memories. As far as I’m aware, my wireless carrier Verizon offers me no option to download or archive these messages straight off my mailbox, so I’ve been trying to use Audacity following this online tutorial:

The only issue is that it didn’t work at all. I followed the process but no sound was recorded.

Please help if you can! Or if you have another possible solution for me, other than Audacity, please let me know!

Thanks

It wouldn’t. The Mini is the only Mac I know of that still has an analog stereo connection.

Do you have any Thunderbolt to USB adapters?

You could try a Behringer UCA-202. Plugged in to the thunderbgolt adapter, that would give you analog stereo line-in to your Mac.

Then one of these between the phone headphone output and the UCA-202.
