Need help with editing

Hello,

I’m an author and have decided to put my books in audio format, but I’m having some problem figuring out how to edit out mistakes I’ve made during reading. I recorded the first chapter, but have two errors to delete. I restarted the paragraph after the mistake, but can’t figure out how to remove the previous paragraph with the error. Whenever I try to delete the section, I end up deleting the book all the way back to the beginning. What am I doing wrong, or can’t you delete sections and leave the rest behind?

You need to “select” the part that you want to delete.

Look in the Tracks Preferences [ http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tracks_Preferences ] and uncheck “Select all audio in project if none selected”. After that, all editing operations will be unavailable unless a selection is made.
