I have tried to figure out how to set the bit rate and I cannot seem to find it. I need my audio to be 192 Kbps and I cannot seem to locate how to change this. I need to submit work to a client right away and I need to find out how to do this. Please help! Thank you in advance.
You only get to set bitrate in one of the compressed formats such as MP3. The uncompressed formats such as WAV are fixed.
File > Export > MP3: Options…
Audacity doesn’t naturally export MP3. To do that, you have to install the Lame software. To do that you have to tell me what kind of computer you’re using.

Hello Koz! Thank you for getting back to me. I’m using Windows 8. I already have the software installed to convert files to MP3’s I just don’t know how to change the bit rate to meet the client’s specifications. The files are all 128 Kbps
If the process in my other post didn’t work, you should tell me what version of Audacity you have.

Hi Koz, Thank you again for getting back to me. When I go to save the file as an MP3 it doesnt ask me for any options. I am so lost. I am running version 2.0.5
Disregard that last post I found what you were talking about. Wow mental moment, I never saw that “options” button there. Thank you so much for your help! I appreciate it!
