Need help with Audacity ACX for a non-tech savvy

Hello!

Thank you so much for your response in advance. I am at a standstill with trying to figure out how to not only understand the requirements put forth by ACX, but implement them into Audacity. I have the Plug In for the ACX Check on Audacity, but unsure how to fix all 3 requirements.

I did purchase a microphone and some studio foam to create a box, even then there is still some sort of background noise. I sit in silence and the only thing I can hear personally is the computer running in the background (its an oldy).

I have tried to read other forms regarding this and also videos on youtube, but I still do not understand it. Can someone please break it down to the simplest verbiage?

I have already recorded over an hour worth of a book, and I would hate to have to start again, or waste my time trying to upload it as is for it to fail.

Thank you

That should nail the peak & RMS requirements every time, but noise usually takes more work.

That’s likely to be a problem. The computer may need to be in a different room or somehow sound-isolated.

From what I’ve been seeing on the forum the current version of Audacity might have a problem processing or analyzing long sections of audio but I don’t know the details.
