I previously installed Audacity 2.0.0 before I was told by the forum that it is a really old version and I should instal the newest version 2.0.6. I did instal 2.0.6 but now my computer will not bring it up because I have the two copies and, I guess, I must uninstal 2.0.0. Longer ago, I had installed Audacity 1.?.? and when it did not work, uninstalled it, but in the process disabled the drivers for my CD/DVD player and I had to take my computer to a technician to correct this. Please tell me how to uninstal 2.0.0 without this happening again.
Audacity shouldn’t affect drivers at all, especially CD/DVD drivers, since Audacity doesn’t rip or burn discs.
So, uninstalling shouldn’t hurt anything but I can’t explain what happened before, so I can’t guarantee it.
I’d probably uninstall them both and then re-install 2.0.6, but I’m not the one taking the risk…

Are you saying the old version is running, or neither version is running?
You might try searching for audacity.exe, and if you find more than one copy right-click to find the version. If you find 2.0.6, double-click it to run it. If that works, make a shortcut, copy the shortcut to your desktop and start menu, and delete the old shortcuts.
