I have recorded a tape using audacity 2.0.5 and it has 9 song on it. How can I lable and number each song. So I can burn on to a cd. It an old tape .
I have seen how to do this some where but can’t seem to find it . Using win 10 Thanks!!!
There’s more than one way to do it. This page links to some instructions for marking the songs and exporting to multiple songs at once. It also has links/information about CD burning (which Audacity can’t do).
I use a Cue Sheet. (I use ImgBurn, which supports cue sheets, as my burning application.)
With a cue sheet you can optionally use one big WAV file and the cue sheet tells the burning application where to put the track markers. I generally start with a known-good cue sheet and then edit it with Windows Notepad. A cue sheet also works great when you have a live recording with no silence between tracks.
Or, you can also simply select-highlight the songs one at a time, and then choose File → Export → Export Selected Audio to create one file at a time. That’s how I do it when I’m making MP3s… I don’t bother with Export Multiple, I just export one song at a time. You might need to prefix the file names with a number so they get burned to the disc in the correct order… “01 Thriller.WAV”, “02 Billie Jean.WAV”, etc.
Thanks Dvddoug.
I reading somewhere last year and I was able to lable each song, but cannot remember where.
All I had to do was put my curser at the begging of each song and number iand name the song. Using ctrl *. It was real easy.
I’ll give what you said a try. Thanks!
