I have downloaded a cassette tape but would like to list the tracks with their titles.
Is this Possible?
When you say downloaded, what do you mean by that exactly?
I downloaded them from a cassette tape through the USB 2.0 Audio Capture.
The download is now saved in Audacity
Thanks
I see. Your terminology confused me because most people would describe that process as recording or digitising. It is indeed possible and I will send you a link to a YouTube video that shows you how but it will be tomorrow now. If you are eager to get going search YouTube for two videos by a guy called Brad Sicotte. The 2nd one is the relevant one. Note - he used an older version of Audacity so bear that in mind.
Did you export as regular audio files (WAV or MP3, etc?)
Have you made separate files for each song and named those files?
On the Export screen there is a button that says Edit Metadata. You can enter the title/album/artist, etc.
Or after exporting the files, MP3TAG is better, and maybe easier (and it supports embedded album artwork, which Audacity does not. MP3TAG supports all of the popular formats, not just MP3.
That would be “recording” or “digitizing” as opposed to transferring-downloading a file. ![]()
This is the video I mentioned: Splitting recording into tracks
I hope it helps you.
