My microphone records very low-level audio signals in Audacity, but it works fine with my other audio software. I’ve attempted to increase the dB level, but it brings in too much noise. I’ve also tried amplifying and compressing it, but the noise remains too high. Noise cancellation worsens the audio quality significantly.
You should fill in all the holes.

Which Audacity — all three numbers?
Which other software?
When did this start? Last major Audacity update?
Other software may apply automatic processing and corrections. Audacity doesn’t apply corrections to any digital signals.

I am having the exact same issue since I have just installed the latest update!! I have double and triple checked all my settings are as usual for my recordings, which are all always done using the same hardware plus Audacity… any suggestions REALLY appreciated as this is holding up a time-sensitive project for me…
