My auto Start and Stop recording project

I go tired of watching for the end of the record, so I came up with this.
Go to and search for “bobhuish” and you will see my Lego project for my son and my USB Turntable project.
Look at it and let me know what you think.

In Audacity 1.3.5 you can use the “Timer Record” function that is in the “Tracks” menu.

Then I would have to add up all the tracks times and go set it for each record. I have about 500 records, don’t plan on recording all of them, it would take to much time. Where my project just stops it at the end of the record no matter how long or short it is.

Usually you will have a pretty good idea of how long the recording will be. How long is an LP side? about 35 minutes? Add on a bit of extra time in case you have underestimated, and trim off the silence when the recording has finished. If you come back to the computer after the track has finished, but before the timer has reached the end, you could of course stop the recording manually by clicking “Cancel”.

(Clever gadget you’ve made there :ugeek: )
